What does Hormone- and Antibiotic-Free mean?
Animals are raised naturally, without the use of synthetic hormones to promote growth or routine antibiotics to prevent disease.
Our commitment includes:
- Breeding and raising animals using natural production practices that support animal health without relying on routine medication.
- Partnering with vendors who follow the same high standards—raising livestock without added hormones or sub-therapeutic antibiotics.
Our animals are raised without the use of hormones or antibiotics. Our natural production practices eliminate the need for sub-therapeutic (daily low-dose) medications that are commonly used in confinement systems. However, in some instances, to prevent death or unnecessary suffering, we allow for the limited use of therapeutic (spot treatment) medication. When this occurs, we double the prescribed withdrawal period before the animal is harvested. This exception reflects our commitment to wise stewardship and ethical livestock care.
Why it matters:
Reducing antibiotic use helps combat resistance, while hormone-free practices result in cleaner, more natural meat. These standards support both animal welfare and consumer health.
