Springhills Arctic char is raised on their family’s farms in Grey County. Every healthy and delicious fillet is individually vacuum-sealed, deboned and frozen at peak freshness.

Arctic char is a rare fish originating from Canada’s North. It has a milder and sweeter flavour than its distant cousin, the trout. It’s raised in colder water, which gives it a thicker skin perfect for the barbecue or frying pan!

Their incredible taste is thanks to their humane and sustainable raising methods. All Springhills fish are grown at small-scale farms with natural spring water, low densities and special diets.

They humanely harvest, fillet, vac-seal and freeze all in the same day, which locks in every bit of freshness into your fillets. They will keep up to 12 months in your freezer.

Springhills is a second-generation family business run by siblings Arlen and RJ Taylor. We grow rainbow trout, Arctic char and coho salmon at farms near Hanover and Chatsworth, Ontario. Our hatcheries are Ocean Wise Recommended and certified sustainable by the Best Aquaculture Practices program.

Note: All Springhills fish are pinboned. We inspect every fillet after deboning, but we do warn you that the odd pinbone sneaks through!
